Tony Soprano is the 16th cat we’ve saved from a stray colony in Hawkesbury, and he was ready to be rescued! He walked right into the carrier without prompting!
When Tony was first settling into his foster home, he was nervous and skittish. They gave him space and time and lots of hiding spots. After a few days in his new foster home, after sitting with him and talking gently for about 30 minutes, his foster mom rested her hand on his side to make sure he had a calm heart rate and steady breath. Then he started to purr!! He uncurled himself, laid down, closed his eyes and gave her a big deep purr for 5 whole minutes. She was able to pet him and rub his chin.
Today, Tony has come out of his shell and is no longer nervous and skittish. His confidence and trust in humans continues to grow, and we know he will make a great companion.
