Founded in 2013, The Avery Foundation (TAF) is a non-profit animal rescue managed by a network of coordinators, volunteers, and foster families. We are a small group of animal advocates who are contributing to changing the lives of homeless animals.
Our mission is to help abandoned and vulnerable animals through foster care, rehabilitation, and ultimately adoption; To guide potential adopters to the best fit for their family to ensure a forever home; and To promote responsible pet ownership through humane education: specifically of the importance of routine veterinary care, spay/neutering and enrichment needs. Ultimately creating a happy and healthy life for as many animals as possible.
TAF is a 100% volunteer-run rescue which operates out of carefully selected foster homes. Our volunteers work diligently to raise funds for the animals through events and fundraisers, with every dollar going towards medical bills, food, and supplies. TAF was created because there was a demand for additional rescue organizations in the Ottawa area. Jenna and Amanda, TAF’s founders, were saddened to see the amount of animals in need, and the lack of resources and organizations available in the region. On this motivation, The Avery Foundation was born.
