When Eme first came to us, she was a skinny, timid little thing with eyes far too big for her face, but I am happy to say she is a totally different cat now. She is a healthy weight, and we lovingly call her Tubbs, as she will quickly devour any food that is put in front of her, and her favourite place to hang out is the bath tub.
Eme is not always interested in traditional cat toys, or even boxes, but has a wonderful time climbing into and licking plastic bags. She loves elastic headbands too. She will chase them across the room, meowing enthusiastically, and sometimes even brings them back for you to throw again. She also has a habit of finding a way into our cupboards to steal sponges! Unfortunately, she doesn’t always realize when playtime is over, and forgets to put her claws away, meaning that she would not do well around young children. She hasn’t been tested around dogs, but does not like to be around other cats.
She does prefer love on her own terms, and will sometimes shy away from affection, but she is not shy about greeting guests at the door, and can be coaxed onto your lap with the help of her brush. She is the happiest cat in the world while you brush her head and will gently tap you with her paw, asking for more if you stop too soon. Eme also loves the sound of whistling, and will run to you and tuck her head under your chin as you do this.
